Satisfaction & involvement

Psychology Practice Doctor Bosman decided in 2017 to enter into a partnership with Presearch. There was need for relevant, reliable and anonymous employee satisfaction surveys (MTO) to identify points of interest within the organisation. Two years Later on, almost all aspects of employee satisfaction are positive. developments are measurable. We asked Doctor Bosman's Gemma Blokhuis - Nail for the steps taken to achieve these fine results.

Why employee research at Presearch?

"In the years prior to the initial investigation, no large-scale MTO was deployed within Doctor Bosman. The reason for the cooperation with Presearch was therefore to gain insight into the satisfaction of employees with their work and work situation. With this information, we can achieve improvements in policy, strategy and personnel management, among other things."

Doctor Bosman's employee research was therefore the first major step in the development process towards being a better employer. Without information about employee satisfaction and dissatisfaction, it is difficult to identify action points. In addition, it is unfeasible for an organisation with hundreds of employees to ask everyone personally for points for improvement. Not to mention the time it takes to properly analyse the results and to comply with the privacy regulations. Dr. Bosman is pleased with the decision to outsource the MTO to Presearch. "We have experienced Presearch as a competent and helpful research agency. There's a quick shift and you'll be included in the process."

How Did the investigation come about?

The The basis of each employee survey is the validated MTO questionnaire. In In consultation with Doctor Bosman, this questionnaire was completed with questions that were specifically relevant within the organisation. Finally, none of the organization the same.

"It's no secret that the workload in the care sector is high. We were therefore very curious to know how the workload within our organisation was perceived, and whether this had adverse effects on our employees. That is why we have added a number of in-depth questions to the study. Presearch listened carefully to our wishes and gave advice where necessary."

Which action points have been taken out of the investigation?

The MTO showed that Doctor Bosman scored very well on many points, but also showed where improvements could be made. "The survey showed that new employees needed more guidance during the first weeks. That is why introduction days are now being organised at the head office. We have also developed an e-learning module to provide new employees with all the relevant information they need to be successful in their new job. This e-learning is not only valuable for new employees. Even employees who have been in service for a longer period of time occasionally feel the need to refresh their knowledge. In addition, lunch conferences will be organised at various locations in order to keep abreast of new developments in the field in a fun way."

The second important point that emerged from the employee survey was the need to be better informed about developments within the organisation. "Employees indicated that they would like to have a works council. It was established immediately after the investigation. In addition, a new intranet has been launched to keep employees even better informed of news within the organisation."

Improvements in employee satisfaction

There changes have therefore been made within several facets of the organisation. We have worked hard on the online learning environment and the new intranet, and we have developed a The company has set up a works council. All beautiful developments, but we also see this back in the results of the employee survey?

If we compare the results of the initial survey in 2017 with the results In the year 2019, we have seen an increase in satisfaction in many areas. The number that give employees the opportunity to work on working conditions, labour relations and terms of employment has risen. The same applies to the overall rating given to Dr. Bosman as employer. In some locations, the figure for being an employer even increased by more than one point!

Never mature

There are good results, but of course you are never fully developed as an organization. Based on the latest research, Dr. Bosman wants to revisit the possibilities of increasing the employment happiness of its employees. As a first step, managers will be talking to employees in the near future to discuss the results of the employee survey. Dr. Bosman shows you what you can achieve when you embrace points for improvement from employee research and you work to bring about change. We are already curious about the results of the next research!
